Cabletron Systems E1 series DNI cards enable users to connect IBMPC/XT, PC AT, or compatibles to an Ethernet network made of a widevariety of transmission media including twisted pair, fiber optic, andcoaxial cable.The E1 series interface is available in six styles for any IBM PC/XT,PC AT, or compatible with an 8-bit XT or 16-bit AT style bus. Each E1series DNI card is available with 8 KB or 16 KB of onboard buffer memory.Cabletron's DNI cards were the industry's first PC network interfacecards to have built-in network management and analyzer capabilities.Network administrators can gather information from and control the DNIcards using remote network management stations. Users can identify andsolve network-traffic or workstation access problems quickly and easilyby using network management software packages.
